Shaping the Change

Executives and employees in every organization, every enterprise think of the future. And individuals in their private lives do so, too. Maybe future change is wanted. However, in the lives of every organization and person there are changes that are not easy to accept. To stand in the way of necessary change, however, is no solution.

From change management we know that after the shock and the denial of change there comes rational acceptance. But even that is not enough. What is needed is emotional acceptance. Only then can we shape the change.

People are always in the center!

My coaching for the future is based on the Future Workshop by Robert Jungk et al. It starts with the creation of mutual trust and the sounding out of the topics. This is followed by the critique phase. What is not going well? Where are conflicts and problems? Then the fantasy phase steps in and creativity makes its entrance. “What if …” In the phase of implementation people find answers to the questions asked in the two preceding phases. What are the goals? Which of those can be realized? How can that be done? With whom? When? A few months later it can be analyzed what worked and where there is need for adjustments.
